Kim Jong Un-, wait no Kim Jong Grillin', that's better! After getting off the plane in PDX, I was very hungry, desperately looking for a bite to eat. Google Searches led me to this Korean Food Truck on E Division St. - the restaurant area of Portland.

I ended up getting the Spicy Pork Bibim Box based on the server's recommendation, and I was not disappointed! This place reminds me a lot of Donn's in Austin, and now I see why Austin and Portland are similar.

The value for what you get in the $12 meal is amazing, and I was filled to the brim until lunch next day on this meal. I loved all the flavors, and I can't wait to come back here on my next trip and try more!

Food truck on division with one other truck and a nice covered deck with tables between the two.
We had bibim boxes of bulgogi and tofu.
Food was out within 20 minutes.
Opening the box the food looks great with lots of color and texture.
    Lots of stuff in there.
The rice was exceptional; moist, tender and yummy.
Lots of different tastes and textures in there.
The spicy sauce adds a nice dimension to the whole thing and the noodles are a pleasant surprise.
The whole thing would be a home run except that the beef was mostly chewy with several pieces being inedible.

I lived in Korea when I was a kid and developed a fondness for certain  Korean dishes that grew more delicious in memory and were difficult to find afterwards: bulgogi, kimbap, and chapchae. When I first moved to Portland, there was only one Korean restaurant in the whole city.  Now we have more options than my dining-out budget can accommodate. That's great! And on a quiet segment of Division without much casual food to choose from, Kim Jong Grillin' is a welcome source of flavor and veggies.

That said, I think the actual quality of this food is just "okay." The bulgogi is tougher and more charred-tasting than the bulgogi of my childhood. (Not a fair comparison, I know.) The rice is a little dry. I've never liked kimchi, categorically, so I won't comment on that. It's kimchi. Maybe you'll like it. The bean sprouts are legit delicious. Chapchae, also okay.

I'm not going out of my way to return. I probably won't recommend it to others unless they specifically desire Korean food and it's the closest place to look. But I mean, it's food, it's nutritious, it tastes good. You can do worse.

My son found this spot because of my brother, he sent is a link to a food truck map. We found it very easy and parking was convenient. We were served quickly as the menus was easy and simple. The food was good and spicy I could smell the spices as ass I open the box. This was for my son he loves the spicy and he said it was delicious, it certainly looked good. If you there check out all the bars on the street you could have drinks and listen to movies.
    Over the food was
    pretty good!!

I love it here, great spot to grab lunch. I always ask for the Noddles extra crispy. My favorite item is the bimbi box with spicy pork but the beef bulgogi is also amazing. The service is always fast, I never have to wait more then 5 or 10 minutes. Great spot, definitely recommend giving it a try!
